Dean-Alastair Platt [September 2024 Showreel]
I love being a part of making films, and have a particular interest for uplifting obscure narratives. Whether fictional, or non-fiction.
I also have a strong interest in using my own films to give representation to aspects of life (experiences/identities/etc) that might not have a lot of representation.
"I would highly recommend Dean to anyone seeking a talented and professional filmmaker. Dean's passion, dedication and skill make him a valuable asset to any project, and I look forward to the opportunity to work with him again."

I worked with a crew of like-minded individuals to help create a short promotional video for Freshfield Primary School, intended for Culture Liverpool and Eurovision.
Working with children, it was a priority for us all to ensure their comfort and safety throughout filming, and we worked very closely with the school to accomplish this.
"Working with Dean on the Eurovision Short for Culture Liverpool was an absolute pleasure. One of Dean's standout qualities is his ability to creatively problem-solve and adapt to any challenges that arise during filming. His innovative solutions and quick thinking helped to overcome obstacles, ensuring that the project stayed on track and maintained its high standard of quality.

I was approached by Green Frog Productions to help produce a short documentary about growing up in the LGBTQ+ community within the region of Cumbria, very aptly titled "Queer In Cumbria".
We aimed to tell impactful stories, from a range of age groups, and successfully achieved this within a 20-day window (from idea generation to an exhibition premiere).
We worked very closely with PiNC Arts throughout production.
I worked with CinemaForAll to capture their 2024 Conference in Sheffield.
With an entire day full of panels, workshops, networking and an amazing lunch, I shot for short form video to capture the essence of the conference.
This video was edited internally with CinemaForAll.
